The Matriarch
Matriarch: [’meitria:k] n.a woman who is the head of a family or tribe.“She has a way of being gentle, but then again, fierce. Both reside at once. She is a safe haven, a healing presence, a force to be reckoned with. She’s been through battles, yet her eyes are ever so burning and her heart ever so soft. And her world is better for it.”
The Life-Giver
“I saw myself in her when I first saw this artwork. I knew I wanted it hanging in my bedroom immediately. Now she greets me every morning when I wake up and I find a lot of comfort in that, whatever it is and however she does it. I’ll treasure this piece always.” ~Eloise
Sacred Union
“One of the greatest wonders of mankind is this; the persevering, unquenchable passion of the woman and man who are resolved to the choosing of one another.”
The Daring
"I fell in love with her courage, her sincerity and her flaming self respect. And it's these things I'd believe in, even if the whole world indulged in wild suspicions that she wasn't all that she should be." ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Lovers
“And I’d choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I’d find you and I’d choose you.” - Kiersten White
The impact of a simple art piece can almost feel surprising. It’s like the feeling of suddenly being seen or known. We find ourselves recognizing parts of ourselves in what we behold. The fabric of who we are. The trueness. Our dreams. Our pain. Our most treasured memories.
I am a firm believer in that what we choose to put up on the walls of our homes have the potential to impact us more than we know.
Sacred Motherhood
This is my latest piece and I think this quote below perfectly embodies what I’m portraying in “Sacred Motherhood”. Mothers, you are truly a wonder to behold.
“The most difficult part of birth is the first year afterwards. It is the year of travail – when the soul of a woman must birth the mother inside her.
The emotional labour pains of becoming a mother are far greater than the physical pangs of birth; these are the growing surges of your heart as it pushes out selfishness and fear and makes room for sacrifice and love.
It is a private and silent birth of the soul, but it is no less holy than the event of childbirth, perhaps it is even more sacred.”
